The globe changes everything. Where the open torch sconces cast dramatic directional light, this globe version diffuses it — softer, more even, more intimate. Same hand-forged iron armature. Completely different atmosphere.
The globe holder is a formed iron cage, each bar individually worked and bent to create the spherical enclosure. The glass globe sits inside the cage — protected, contained, but fully visible. When lit, the filament is visible through the glass, casting warm ambient light through the iron cage onto the surrounding wall.
The Detail
Look at the arm that extends the globe from the wall — it is not straight. It has a slight natural bend, a taper, a surface that reads as worked metal rather than extruded tube. That is because it is worked metal. Every part of this sconce went through the forge.
